Commercial Dashcams
Anyone running a fleet of vehicles will already understand the benefits video evidence can provide. A video of an incident can not only prove crucial to defend an insurance claim or a driver prosecution but many of our customers also use our camera footage for driver training, staff appraisals and proof of compliance, which just adds extra value to the system investment.
Why do I need a Commercial Spec System? Dashcameras are widely available but most entry level units fall short in a commercial environment!

Some things to consider…
Mounting
Is the camera securely mounted to the vehicle? Suction cups are great for a quick install but if the camera isn’t securely fixed then it may not provide the view you need when you need it the most.
Power Supply
Dash cameras require power from the vehicle, where a “plug in” unit may be quick and simple to install equally it can be unplugged, knocked or tampered with just as easily. We have heard many horror stories from customers where they’ve needed footage, but the socket in the vehicle wasn’t working or the driver has unplugged the camera to charge their phone or power their sat nav…. That’s why we recommend all commercial cameras are professionally installed and hardwired.
Recording times
Everyone wants as much recording time as possible but realistically, how much footage do you need the system to keep? An entry level dashcam may only hold 2-4 hours of footage so if this is installed in a vehicle that drives for 8x hours per day chances are by the time the vehicle returns it has already overwritten footage from earlier in the day. We recommend that every unit holds at least two days worth of footage but some of our units can hold up to two months so this should be a major consideration when choosing a system.
Tampering
All of our commercial cameras are “anti tamper”.
From hardwiring the power to protecting unwanted access to the memory card – which is also solves a GDPR compliance issue as well!
Remote access to Footage and FNOL
Do you require remote access to the footage? Would it be beneficial for the camera system to automatically send through a video as and when an event occurs? We offer a range of stand alone “offline” units as well as “connected” units -which can provide a live notification of an incident as well as adding the ability to remotely download the footage to our cloud based software.
